National Hispanic Heritage Month
The ND Club of Boston wants to recognize our Hispanic Alumni by observing National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15.  During this month, it is important to celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of Notre Dame Alumni whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Third Annual NDSA Senior Open Golf Tournament

The Third Annual Notre Dame Senior Alumni (NDSA) Senior Open Golf Tournament, benefitting the God, Country, Notre Dame (GCND) Scholarship Fund, will be held on Thursday, September 28 (ND vs. Miami of Ohio weekend), with a shotgun start at 2:00 pm, at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame.

The 2017 Notre Dame Club of Boston Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017.  We are excited to visit Pleasant Valley Country Club, Sutton, MA, one of New England’s finest golf courses and facilities and host to dozens of PGA, LPGA, NEPGA and USGA tournaments.  Click for details and registration!

NDWC Golf Clinic

Monday, October 2, 2017 ~ 10:30 am - 7:00 pm 

Co-Sponsored by ND Women Connect and ND Golf Tournament

For those not wishing to play a full round of golf we will host an Instructional Golf Clinic in conjunction with our annual golf tournament at PVCC's beautiful practice facility.  Arrive by 2:30 pm to enjoy a 90 min small group instructional session led by Pleasant Valley Golf Staff with time following for practice.  Then join the tournament participants at 5:30 pm for a cocktail reception and dinner.   Tickets are $60.  Please register by September 22, details can be found here: Golf Tournament Information.

We are delighted to announce that our Hesburgh Lecture Series speaker for 2017 will be Dr. James McKenna, University of Notre Dame Rev. Edmund P. Joyce, C.S.C., Chaired Professor in Anthropology and Director of Mother-Baby Behavioral Sleep Laboratory.  Dr. McKenna serves on the Health Advisory Board of La Leche League International and is a Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of California (Berkeley), his master’s degree in anthropology at San Diego State University, and his Ph.D. in biological anthropology at the University of Oregon-Eugene.

The topic of his lecture will be  'Do Men and Women Speak in Two Different Tongues?  If So, Why?'

Congratulations Padraig Carolan ’04 and John Kwon '14

Congratulations to two Notre Dame alums, Padraig Carolan, ND ’04 and John Kwon ND ’14, who will be receiving the Leadership in Service award from Dr. Jim O’Connell ND’70 on behalf of the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Following years of involvement with BHCHP, the Notre Dame community feels the true impact that this program and its supporters bring to the broader community and want to recognize those efforts.

The online discussion takes place from Sunday September 10th to Sunday October 15th.  Join the Shared Read Facebook group for a suggested reading schedule, regular discussion questions, articles about the book and authors, and photos/updates from other NDWC groups.
